Youth To Washington Tour

Youth To Washington Tour image

Each year SouthEastern Illinois Electric Cooperative sponsors the ‘Youth to Washington’ program. The program is open to any high school junior or senior providing they haven’t  participated in the tour previously.

Two high school students are selected to attend the Youth to Washington program each year in June.  The two winners of the Youth to Washington program also participate in Illinois Rural Electric Youth Day in Springfield in March or April.  The students must attend a school in the service area of the cooperative. This educational program is sponsored by electric cooperatives throughout the nation.

Applying for this excellent opportunity is simple.  There is an application similar to an employment application, plus several essay style questions to answer.  If you have any questions please contact Sunday Whitlock at 618-273-2611 ext 170.
